Suzanne de Villiers completed her M.A. (Clinical Psychology) at the Unviersity of Stellenbosch in 1994. She did her internship training at the Unit for Clinical Psychology (University of Stellenbosch), Child Psychiatry (Tygerberg Hospital) and Adult Psychiatriy (Stikland Hospital). After graduation, she worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Student Counselling (University of Stellenbosch), started a private practice in Durbanville and lectured part-time at the Department of Psychology (University of Stellenbosch). She also worked as the first regional psychologist in the West Coast/Winelands region from 1998-2001 (Department of Health). After relocating to Paarl in 2006, she completed her Ph.D. in Psychology (2011), researching the psychological experiences of motherhood and childcare in a low-income community. From 2011-2014, Suzanne lectured part-time at the Midrand Graduate Institute and provided supervision to intern counsellors. Currently she practices at the Morgenzon Practice in Paarl and works as a consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Bloemendal Addiction Centre in Simondium. She also provides supervision to registered counsellors and psychologists.
Suzanne has a strong interest in psychotherapy: both from a theoretical and practical point of view. She also attended additional training courses in child assessment and therapy.
